Counting by Two's

Posted in , ,

In the last couple of weeks we have been cherry picking. Cherry Tomatoes.
We have been counting EVERYTHING that we get from our garden. So I pulled out the muffin
tins and we counted the cherry tomatoes by twos!
We 98 of them this particular day.

I had always heard of home schoolers who just incorporate learning into their day in a natural way. I am more of a 'follow the book' gal but I am seeing more and more ways to 'learn in everyday life' now that I am an official home schooler.

oo what a great way to practice counting by 2s! We have 4 cherry tomato plants..do you know how many tomatoes have made it into my house? None... My son eats them all as soon as they are red ;-)

My 3 year old eats them off the plant too! It is funny cause she is my 'choosy' eater but she'll eat cherry tomatoes!

What a great way to bring math into your everyday living!

We count by two's when we play cards and have to add up our matches at the end.

This seems like a yummier wya to do that! :)
